I believe it is slide 11 ex is referring to.
With regards to PFS (which is what that slide references), the control had not received DCVax, while the treatment arm had. The “confoundment” begins when the control arm crosses over and receives treatment as well.
Of course, as pointed out by Dr. Mulholland, many patients in the treatment arm appeared to event (which is what PFS measures) soon after receiving the treatment. However, the MRIs - which were the sole determinant of measuring PFS - could not distinguish the difference between psPD and real recurrence. Hence, it appeared that the treatment arm was eventing earlier than the control arm.
