Rose, As I recall we are close to the same age - 70 plus few months.

On of my life's mottoes is:

"The art of a good living - is to learn to live with the defects you have" - (meaning everyone have body defect's one way or another).

Just ask my children if they have heard that phrase a couple of times !! :)

I have had my left knee 'tender in between for the last 35 years' - but still never operated. used to switch to biking for a period - that always seemed to solve the problem 'as i is a different sort of strain on the knee joint' - I always use knee brace in periods of problems (also trough the day - sometimes for support and to keep the knee warm).

If you don't have it already (I would guess that you do) - buy a couple of good elastic knee braces - and your ready for 'looking like a model in no time' :)
