I don't know what his lipids would have been otherwise, but I do know that at least 50% of first time MACE's are in people with normal lipids. We are learning that the MOA's for CVD prevention go well beyond lipid management. I recall the recently posted CAC score by PharmacyDude (who otherwise has normal lipids) is a good example of the fallibility of lipid testing. Besides, VASCEPA has many other pleotropic effects that don't show up on the label. Another point: The VASCEPA label doesn't call for "fasting" Trigs, so yes I'm ok with it.
