Hey, BnB,

My need for a decorator comes about because I have no sense of style or design.

Although my galley kitchen is 9' wide, I think white cabinets would make it appear more open. My neighbor redid his kitchen and chose a solid counter that is attractive. His cabinets are oak and he made them himself.

I would think about the washer and dryer being in two locations. Schlepping the wet laundry could get old fast.
