Two third world countries are not Russia. I have not been a supporter of sanctions in the past because I agree they do nothing to change the situation. This however is not comparable.
If you want to risk a broader war and even worse just to find out where Putin's breaking point actually is, even when the Pentagon is telling you it is not worth the risk, I don't see that you are on very firm ground.
Today China said they would stop supplying plane parts. That is hopefully a step in the right direction. Others (Chechnya? Georgia?) may very well follow. Thousands are not hundreds of thousands at least not yet.
