Just about the entire world hopes that the Russian people will overthrow Putin. It's an unknown whether or not they will and whether or not they can get any help from the Russian military to do so.

The pictures (verified ones) showing protests certainly suggest there is potentially enough impetus for them to try.

Putin could not put down a full fledged revolt without recalling troops that are currently attacking Ukraine. I'm very sure the Ukrainian soldiers would be quick to take advantage of that situation.
