YEARS AGO, I commented to Whal what a POS organization KP was/is/still is! Worse than any other.
No surprise Bhatt would suggest they are not into preventative, they're incompetent, all about short term profits, never the lives of their patients.

Bottom line..... Cardiologists are rarely preventative. By the time patients are seeing the cardiologist, the time for prevention is OVER! Cardiologists are procedure driven and thus is their focus, not staying up on the latest prevention drug. The last thing they want to do is see patients often enough to track their lipids and adjust their meds when they spend 70% of their time in the cath lab.

That's where they make the $$$. They patch them up and send them back to the primary care......which is where prevention starts. FP, GP, DO, IM, or lipidologists i.e., lipid experts. These are the specialties where Vascepa will be prescribed. Sure there are some excellent preventative CD's out there, just not very many.....and not typically the one performing your cath or bypass.
