Have today watched C-span3 coverage of 10/14/2021 hearing of the the Congressional Subcommittee on Energy and Mineral Resources chaired by Rep Allen Lowenthal members of same committee Leven,porter,Grace,Huffman don’t have the rest. This is a committee that deals with well cleanup/ capping. The hearing today delt with off shore wells & there cleanup. This is one committee that could be lobbied by pctl & us… the stockholders.Katie Porter is a fire cracker on the environment. She would be one to lobby heavy. Today’s hearing concentrated on gulf & Calf off shore wells. The committee also responsible for capping on shore wells. Porter stated 39 billion spent on cleanup/ removal of platform (by the government) the industry spending was 10% of that as many of them go bankrupt ( just like on shore wells). There’s been something like 4.3 B set aside for oil well cleanup/ capping. All of which the government could save if the wells could be reopened to generate additional oil that pctl process produces. With the reopening of old wells permits could require the owner to produce a bond for cleanup/ capping. Check out the aforementioned time & date of this hearing you may be able to listen. In any case this is a good start for the lobbing effort.
