Sorry, that is not correct. Remdesivir was the standard of care (SOC) during the trial. Both the Tollovir and placebo group received the SOC. The trial measured the impact of Tollovir compared to SOC alone.
I don't think you'd get many patients signing up to receive only an experimental drug by itself. At least the SOC would give you a chance for survival if the experimental drug was shown to have no impact in combatting the virus.
You might want to listen again to the presentation to verify for yourself. It's probably something more than a few people have misunderstood.
On a different note, one poster is claiming Remdesivir was responsible for all the positive effects measured in the trial. But if that is true, then Remdesivir was also responsible for all of the deaths in the trial. Unless one believes the placebo is what caused the deaths.
