Good points. You can't mean like separating children from their families and keeping them in cage-like rooms and then losing track of their families. Maybe you mean invading countries on false pretenses? Is that a western democratic value?

Or a situation where it's just being revealed that police forces around a country have been mistreating minority citizens for decades, murdering a bunch in the process. Maybe passing a bunch of laws to restrict access to voting aimed at minorities?

Not sure I understand why Israel has to live up to the norms of a western democracy, anyway. They do on some things and don't on some things, a gay Palestinian would be a lot better off in Tel Aviv than in Amman or anywhere else in the Middle East.

Isn't India the world's largest democracy?
