he did a good job describing that time period in that essay. Many schools were essentially mooring spots for Animal House type students then. My first one was a national jc champion in hockey for several years running so there were so many crazy canadians who did such such normal behavior (for them) as chewing up beer glasses and crushing pre-aluminum beer cans with their skulls. It was 30 miles from canada, and one night the americans stopped the hockey coach, coming from canada, and wouldn't let him get bailed out until the game was over. they started losing, often. American farmboys didn't take to the rink real well.

I was still doing sports then, so the smoking light was not on, but I grew pot on the farm in the summer even though I didn't partake. Handing out garbage bags full of the weed at Xmas time seemed to give me access to the international craziness. I would just toss a few handfuls of seeds, which they generously supplied, into the sunflower planting drill, and voila! mass quantities.

I don't even remember anyone discussing grades, but my chemistry prof was a buddy of my dad's, so A's were a given, but 4.0's didn't occur until grad school. Even the rooster types weren't allowed to flunk out. The CAB board is sub-that. If it were not all online, we would probably see that most of them have had their noses bent numerous times by believers in reality.
