I went thru my account on Monday and had some short term gains from option trading. So I looked for some short term losses to take against them.
Also since my only income is from modest Social Security and trading I looked for some long term gains to take ( sell ) and buy back the next day to raise my cost basis tax free. I can have about $42,000 in long term gains and qualified dividend total so I sold and bought back some securities ( IMKTA, STKL, PLUG ) in my taxable accounts to get close to that.
