Because it is cheaper than paying for another bullshit PR. AND because the personal touch is part of the allure used to entice the underwater retail shareholder-victims to make direct investment with the patina that they are special and (in their minds only) like insiders.
MALCOLM H. PHILIPS JR. played this play from The Pennyscammers Playbook (2nd Ed.) to a tee and revictimized the retail common stockholders to the tune of an additional $45 million in CDEX, for example. And of course those re-victimized scam victims lost it all. Every red cent. The scammers just dissolved the corporation, leaving nothing behind, nott even the 17 failed 'products' used to sell shares - the dreams - to the victims and re-victims.
Just as The Clownshow uses unprofitable game cafes to shill for more buyers of retail stock, and now direct investments from the retail shareholder-victims too.
Just like CDEX.
I would be unsurprised if The Clownshow tries another play from The Pennyscammers Playbook (2nd Ed.): a rights offering.
They desperately need munny to cover the endless ongoing OPERATING LOSSES. Sumbuddy has to cover up the quarterly shortfalls. Eventually JOHN R. FOX runs ~OUTT of credit. They need new sources of munny to pay for the LOSSES.
Every good pennyscam needs a plausible story.
