Unbelievable, my state had almost 8,000 new cases yesterday. And 130+ deaths. The highest death count since before we had vaccines in 2020.
Just went to the local small grocery store. At least 20 something people and not one mask except myself. No one distancing, 3 people coughing right next to other people. It's like covid doesn't exist. But I'm in a deep red part of the state. One stupid bitch tried to cut in front of me as I was already in the line and then stood 1 foot behind me NEXT to my cart. Had she stood there for a second or asked me I would have gladly let her go first, I do that all the time when people are just holding stuff and I have a cart. So I pulled the cart back in front of her and pushed her back with the cart and left another few feet back from the counter top. She couldn't put her stuff down yet either. She started to say something but I leaned over my cart and stared at her hard. Inched my cart slowly while finishing up the purchase.
Just as I was packing up a guy a few feet away grabbing some booze laughs and says loudly, you still wearing a stupid mask? Usually, I walk away and not even look at them, but I was still settling down with the woman and couldn't stop myself and said 'you still stupidly not vaxxed?'. Of course he goes to yell something, but I said, 'just shut up and mind your own business and drink your vodka.' I was already walking away and probably before he could come up with anything I was out the door at a slow walk. He never followed. Sure, I could have gotten my ass kicked, but not that time. I'm so sick of it. It gets harder to keep quiet and just let it go to not cause trouble.
But the other side of it is, why should I, getting a vaccine to protect myself and ultimately my loved ones and neighbors have to be on the defense about this? That's criminal.
