So back in the day we used to discuss R33’s on this board. The guy that invented the measurement (C.C. Teng) even worked at Lightwave. The trick to this technology and the reason that the founders of Lightwave Logic began this quest was to create a Stable Polymer with a High R33 and while there are materials out there with very high R33’s they only last a few seconds before getting smoked.
Lightwaves polymer is so sensitive that it can embed the data in the laser without the need for a voltage booster (drive) they are required in todays power hungry devices.
Just to summarize Lightwaves Polymer when added to todays Silicon Photonics Triples the Speed and cuts the Power Required to operate the Modulator in half. Not only does it reduce drive voltage but because electricity produces heat it also reduces the amount of A.C. required at the data center. The genius of what Lightwave did was while the industry was spending 10’s of billions chasing Silicon Photonics Lightwave was developing materials and submitting patents on the materials AND (Very Important) Lebby threw down device patents so that even if someone else is able to create a polymer with equal or better R33’s the Device Patents will force them to kiss the ring and pay the vig to Lightwave Logic.
Kinda Like when Karl Bentz patented the Gasoline powered internal combustion engine.
Comprende?
Win - Faster
Win - Less Electric
Win - No Driver Component
Win - Smaller
Win - Green
Win - needed in about 42 different Industries and Devices
And the Winner is…….LWLG
Anyone that thinks this will not be used everywhere is not living in the real world. How many new devices or apps did we begin using last year that require data? Up to this point the industry has tried to ignore us, Watch this Very Closely. Proly have a few Joint Ventures, Technology Transfers etc, then Wham we will be fielding buyouts like John McEnroe backhanding tennis balls back in the day.
