What's our national interest in Ukraine? I think after 20 years of Afghanistan, a long involvement in Iraq, and before that, Vietnam, maybe we should give it a break - I find no need to stand up to the Russians. That should be much more a European or Asian area of concern.

NATO countries border Ukraine. It is NATO that is concerned with the amassing of Russian forces on the border.

To avoid the "need to stand up to the Russians", the US would have to withdraw from NATO which it has led since the founding in 1949.

I'm not making a point that the US should or should not do this. I AM asking if you think the US should abandon NATO over this issue to avoid the confrontation.
