I can point out to you country clubs that didn't accept Jews, colleges had quotas, heck, even entire villages in some areas had unspoken rules about not selling to Jews. Before WWII, anti-semitism was widespread and inescapable.
I'm glad your people were so accommodating, there was even a Jewish kid lynched in Georgia.
What's our national interest in Ukraine? I think after 20 years of Afghanistan, a long involvement in Iraq, and before that, Vietnam, maybe we should give it a break - I find no need to stand up to the Russians. That should be much more a European or Asian area of concern.
