A lot of faulty logic there...

Exxon put fcel's contract on a 6 month extension instead of simply resigning them...many here reasoned that that was because Exxon wanted to wait to see how much money they get from the welfare bills...

but then soon after, Exxon announced that they will spend $15 bil on essentially what fcel does...if Exxon already knew that they were going to spend that kind of money on what fcel does, then why merely extend their contract for 6 months instead of resigning them...

that 6 month extension is essentially a 6 month probationary period where fcel has to prove they are worthy...because they apparently have not yet done so in the last 6 years...

Exxon, with the assistance of both FCEl and Global, is probably working on multiple bids world wide. They have committed to $15 billion - but what if they are working on $50 billion of possible projects. They simply haven't got enough info at this time to come to mutually agreeable long term commitments.

fcel takes years to build a facility...and in the case of groton, when they were done, it wasnt done right and needed to be fixed...

We aren't just building a prefab in the suburbs here. Permits must be drawn, specs approved etc. In the case of Groton - more likely than not the military wants something unique that's never been done before and the first of anything is always the hardest. After they get that install done there could be a contract for 50 or more similar units around the world.

this is NOT what Exxon wants...they want fast, less costly and quality...

i think Exxon realizes that with the trillions being spent, the tech will advance leaps and bounds...and they also see that a dinosaur like fcel will never compete with companies that move quickly and nimbly

Um, they've been working with FCEL for six years, this IS rocket science, they aren't going to start the process all over with a new company.

it wasnt until the trillion dollar bills started passing in congress and looking like a sure thing that Exxon suddenly found $15 bil to invest in that effort...

Exxon has been under pressure for years to clean its act up. Activist shareholders were putting pressure on them before the bills came up.
