"The world will not be able to wean itself off of carbon based fuels overnight."
of course not...
"There will be a transition period, and cleanup efforts will also be necesssary."
of course...
"Exxon needs FCEL to work through that transition."
they need companies that will assist in their effort and do so asap and do it as quickly as possible...and do it RIGHT...they want companies that can get them as much of that welfare money as possible...
but does that mean they NEED fcel?...
lets see....Exxon put fcel's contract on a 6 month extension instead of simply resigning them...many here reasoned that that was because Exxon wanted to wait to see how much money they get from the welfare bills...
but then soon after, Exxon announced that they will spend $15 bil on essentially what fcel does...if Exxon already knew that they were going to spend that kind of money on what fcel does, then why merely extend their contract for 6 months instead of resigning them...
that 6 month extension is essentially a 6 month probationary period where fcel has to prove they are worthy...because they apparently have not yet done so in the last 6 years...
fcel takes years to build a facility...and in the case of groton, when they were done, it wasnt done right and needed to be fixed...
this is NOT what Exxon wants...they want fast, less costly and quality...
i think Exxon realizes that with the trillions being spent, the tech will advance leaps and bounds...and they also see that a dinosaur like fcel will never compete with companies that move quickly and nimbly
investors have to understand that Exxon's primary goal isnt to clean the environment...its primary goal is to get their hands on as much of that welfare money as possible...if that means that the environment suffers a bit longer, oh well...
it could be that fcel is what Exxon needs to clean the environment...unfortunately, that isnt their real goal...and if fcel cant do what they do with a whole lot more speed, they will be dropped...
it wasnt until the trillion dollar bills started passing in congress and looking like a sure thing that Exxon suddenly found $15 bil to invest in that effort...
but that $15 bil isnt really for cleaning up the environment...it is being invested so that Exxon can get its hands on 100's of billions more welfare dollars...
cleaning the environment is just a by-product of that effort...
