I started learning French (again) in Montreal. Worst place to learn it.

I'm trying to learn French and as soon as I speak, people resond in English.

Dinners with my French Canadian friends were quite something. Me speaking french, them speaking english, then the subject gets hard and I'm speaking english and they are speaking french.

After I moved to France, got divorced, met a new woman, I went back with her to Canada and visited some Quebecois friends. Same sort of dinner, my current wife was completely lost in the conversation.
