and the bios didn't come up 1st?
we know it did because you identified two restore pts

if the bios didn't even boot then there was a mechanical failure
but what you've described says that wasn't the case...

I've recovered from numerous blue screens of death quickly
but I have a very unusual setup, a ghost system, and two backups

I have a way to recover.....goes back to my days on a VAX
that was said to be unhackable.....well it was....
but created a way to have it completely clean and back up
and running in about 30 minutes

You said you showed two restore pts going back to Aug

if it couldn't-wouldn't restore on the 1st one

before trying the 2nd was the time to go to safe mode

I'm certain he didn't try it then-

if he accessed the files on the drive
he could've accessed the image files, put them on a bootable
dvd, set the bios to boot from the dvd, etc etc etc etc etc

I'm saying your tech wasn't as savvy as he thinks he is
probably weaned on Vista and later

I have one system that appears very strong and takes a licking
but can be gov't hacked....everyone can be gov't hacked....
they can literally do anything they want....

once that premise is accepted....then
it becomes a matter of:

A young Farmer went to jail for some silly offense
his dad talked to him while in jail on the phone
one evening and said he had no idea now how he was going to
get the back 40 plowed....son said well dad
just go out there and look for an old spot where I buried
50 lbs of drugs and $40,000 in cash and just take some
of the cash and hire it done.....

Next morning at daybreak
Federal Agents descinded on those acres with shovels in hand
and completely tore it up. After finding nothing, they left
in frustration. The next evening after they left, the dad
talked with his son on the phone and said what happened....

he said son, they didn't find anything and they dug up every
single inch of that back 40....son says...
yep, but now you don't have to plow it dad.....

and that's how one handles a gov't hack....

and let there be nothing there.....

they can always frame someone....
so you have to have the information- the truth out where
it's safe and beyond their reach and in more places
than is worth looking for....so they realize they aren't
really interested in digging up fields where nothing is...

Kinda like why one of the reasons I stopped wearing my
wedding ring except when we go to public events together
when I had it on....I got hit on so much it boggled my mind
if I wasn't wearing it.....it would stop....
I finally asked a friend....why the heck is this happening?

seems like the feebs are finally figuring that out
