I've been away from the market for a long time but am ready to get back in now, having opened a new account at Scottrade (one of our faithful advertisers -- hint, hint).

I'd be interested in hearing any stock/price recommendations, as I've been away so long, I've lost track. I definitely won't be daytrading (I just don't have the time or the inclination), but am not exactly looking for LTBH, either. I plan to open 5 positions (straight equities, long or short -- no options for a while) and do perhaps 1 or 2 trades per week once the initial positions are opened. Giving roughly a one-month horizon on most positions.

I'll be doing my own DD on any recommendations anyone cares to send my way, so if you suggest something, I buy it, and I lose money on it, I'll only point fingers at me.

I know this board is mostly about daytrading, but I still went through last night and checked out about a dozen of the tickers mentioned. Didn't see any that I'd want to turn my back on for a month. hehe But I think that a lot of you daytraders probably have some darlings you don't mind keeping.

So, any recommendations are appreciated. Afterhours is fine. I know you guys are busy right now.
