Your story brought several chuckles out from me not because of what happened to you (THAT is serious), but I could relate (and re-live) every one of those moments you shared from the perspective as a hosptial employee.

"I suppose my point is that if you go through hell once, you take every precaution not to do it again."

That's maturity- which is only gained through experience. The challenge is surviving the experience...
