The irony of electric cars is that they increase CO2 release right now. Meaning if goals of switching to EVs occurs, more CO2 will be released over the next decade so the future will have reduced CO2. Meaning we are more likely to have an increase in global temperature as we try to switch people to EVs if you believe CO2 is the real driver of climate change.

If people want to save the enviornment and reduce your footprint stopping car production and use will go way further toward that goal. Reduce consumption not increase it. Renewables and EVs are all about increasing consumption.

EVs and Tesla goal of self driving, if ever successful, would serve the enviornment better if not individually owned. Car shares go further toward reducing consumption than everyone buying an EV and continually upgrading to the newest model like an iPhone. If you look at the data and forums you'll see Tesla owners buying new generation of cars. Great for capitalism, bad for the enviornment.

Do you need to go from model S to 3? From 3 to Y? From Model S old to new generation? Maybe because if you dont the older Teslas are more likely to go out of control. However out of control issue in presence of electromagnetic radiation has caused all Teslas to go out of control so far.
