I doubt there will be a hostile takeover, and even if they have a buyout or takeover in the works, we might not hear about it for months. That frequently happens that there is a delay after TLD to when such an announcement is made. So there will be no way for you to knowingly choose not to “stick around” unfortunately.

One can choose not to stick around, but one may be saying goodbye to a deal that could have potentially significantly enhanced one’s return. Everyone will have to make a choice when the TLD is announced if they can pass on any such deal and just take what they have then versus what is behind door #2.
