I have read various opinions on freezing batteries. The only reason I ever did it was because of all the toys (batteries not included we bought for our son).

Years ago we had a blackout and of course everyone knew I was fully stocked. I kept the whole neighborhood stocked. I have cut back on the supply just to feed my mouse.

As for the apocalypse I have met preppers here who think it is coming. They buy silver and stock up on beans, rice, pop tarts and ammo.

Buy batteries. You'll have something to barter with.
