I always say to read the audit backwards, starting near the end with the name of the CPA , his firm and the scope of his work. Where is his office? Law Vegas? Fort Lauderdale? Then read the footnotes, maybe several times. Then any restatements.

Boring stuff, that's vital. You can probably ignore the great business headlines and pictures up front.
