George, as always, thanks for your posting again this so-important announcement from Anavex.

The Anavex study showed conclusively that blarcamesine, when administered to mice subject to Alzheimer’s, simply prevented the onset of the disease in the little rodents.

But, could this be the case in humans, too? Presume as one might wish, but in the multitude of murine studies of blarcamesine I’ve found not one where when subsequently tested in humans the drug failed. When blarcamesine works in murines (lab rats and mice) it always has gone on to work also in humans. Safely, too.

Dr. Missling, understandably, is being restrained in his comments, “...the potential expansion for the ANAVEX®2-73 platform to find an effective Alzheimer’s prevention therapy....” Behind closed doors, Missling doesn’t talk so conditionally. He and research team know full well, blarcamesine will prove to be not only an Alzheimer’s treatment, but of even greater impact will be its prophylaxis, where a low dose taken intermittently (say, only on Mondays and Tuesdays), starting in middle age, will prevent Alzheimer’s.

The clinical results of blarcamesine, whether in murines or humans, have not been variable; with some failures and some successes. All successes; a reflection of the drug’s propitious, broad-spectrum therapeutics. With blarcamesine, in testing there have been no surprises. It works; always.
