The narrative about the persecution of "non-white" skin color being the sole reason for everything on Earth is becoming very monotonous. Believe it or not, there are some very straight forward logistical reasons for drug related arrest rates amongst different races in the U.S.
Chicago is a great city to drive around at night in order to see for yourself how the street drug game really works, but I know this also holds true for every major city in the U.S...Ever seen 25 white guys with guns holding down a corner, an alley, or a whole block, at 1am, with cars lined up in a queue to buy drugs? In all my years, I've never seen it.
You see, White guys who sell weed(or other "drugs"), whether in the burbs or the city, they always sell within their circle of friends, or a network of mutual friends. They schedule quick meetings over the phone to do deals, but very rarely, if ever, deal with strangers.
In contrast, Black folks who sell weed or other drugs, more often than not, do it through running what are called "tips", or drug spots, that are set up to specifically serve any stranger that drives up or walks on over. You may very rarely see some Latin folks running a tip in Chicago, but you never ever see White folks or Asian folks doing it that way.
This concept of tips vs. personal meetings is a much bigger deal than many realize, and this has been the case for decades. When a tip gets busted by the cops, one guy might go to jail for a bit, but before he's even been booked, he's already been replaced on the same corner by another guy from his team.
The tips never shut down for more than a little while, and they operate for stretches of many years straight. This allows the cops to just sit and watch from a distance, 24/7/365. They watch and wait to see who shows up at the tip, and decide who is worth busting, whenever they think it is time again. There is no analog for this concept in contemporary European American or Asian American culture, whether in the city or burbs.
Can you imagine the Irish or Italians during alcohol prohibition illegally selling alcohol right outside on the corners of city blocks, like an actual lemonade stand, and then blaming their repetitive arrests on the cops just being bigots? They used secretive speakeasies and private meetings. In 2021, there is still no special knock used to buy crack on a corner in Chicago.
In the drug game, there is also a waaay higher prevalence of "non-white" people trying to rob each other, and everyone else, at gunpoint, which creates plenty of unnecessary violence, prison time, and general chaos. None of this is to pick on anyone from any background, but it needs to be said, as it is factual. There are some things that really are just the direct result of cultural differences in behavior.
