That has certainly happen before but then how would you explain the protection of this symbol in court by someone we don't know?

Recently, there've been a few other cases of long-dead company management coming to life to defend against a custodianship action. That's made me wonder whether they believe that if they lose control in their home states, they'll lose the company assets.

I don't know whether that would happen, or whether they believe it would, but at least the latter seems possible.

It also seems possible that CRGP never got around to going private--if it ever seriously intended to do so--or officially snatching the assets, in 2015.
