Their claims don't hold water, as the SEC went to great lengths to emphasize that companies may publish the required disclosure on their own websites for free. They don't have to bow down to OTCMarkets' fee demands.

And the SEC still doesn't recognize OTCMarkets' made-up markets.

The only thing OTCMarkets did succeed in doing is having OTC Link being recognized as an "OTC Reporting Facility" under FINRA's supervision under the Penny Stock Rules. But what OTCMarkets won't say is that they are actually 1 of 2 penny stock trading Interdealer Quotation Systems so designated. The other is Global OTC, which is owned by the NYSE, and usually trades more penny stock volume that OTC Link does. OTCMarkets likes to portray themselves as top dog in the penny stock trading world, but they aren't.
