It's the appearance of impropriety.

I'm sure he never said anything actionable because he is a lawyer.

But I'm sure some were thrilled he was there.

It lended legitimacy to the board.

Been there.

Got burned.

Learned the lesson.

Why do 99% of day traders lose money?

In other words, they pattern trade until they lose money. 99%.
