A recent Gallup poll asked the following question: "What's your favorite sport to watch on TV?" Here are the results:

43% Football
12% Basketball
11% Baseball
4% Auto Racing
3% Golf
3% Figure Skating
2% Soccer
2% Ice Hockey
2% Boxing
1% Tennis
1% Gymnastics

Then AOL asked their subscribers the same question. @40,000 people responded, with these results:

42% Football
24% Auto Racing
8% Figure Skating
8% Baseball
4% Basketball
4% Ice Hockey
3% Soccer
3% Gymnastics
2% Golf
2% Tennis
1% Boxing

FWIW, when AOL asked their subscribers, "What's the sport you hate watching to most?", Golf led the way with 19%. IMHO, the only thing more boring than watching somebody play golf on TV is watching somebody try to catch a fish.
