STS, from what I've seen, about 16 states have a greater than 50% vaccination rate. Vermont has the highest at 64%. Nationally, 47% of people have been vaccinated. You're still in the minority.
My brother-in-law was vaccinated in December, Internal Medicine HCP. He was in NY last week and contracted Covid. Was coughing, malaise, went to work, had rapid test (Negative).
Next day, symptoms worsened, fever to 102, tested again with standard test (positive). Lab said he had no COVID antibodies. The lab employees who were also vaccinated in late December, confirmed, they also had no Covid antibodies left. He's having the Monoclonal antibodies administered tomorrow (What Trump had). Hopefully he'll find out what variant infected him.
So, it appears we have a vaccination (still in the early stages of testing) that lasts about 6 months max.
So what now, get another vaccination?...... do this for how long?? Now the (more contagious) Delta variant.... Masks again, lock downs? CDC says if you've been vaccinated and come in contact with a Covid carrier, do nothing. However, like my sister, she's been vaccinated, husband has Covid, now she's in a 10 day quarantine. Go out, live your life......unless you're in a nursing home or high risk.
