Same reason the 13 settled, to end the legals and minimize the cost. Billy is not stupid, he knows there are shareholders involved. He is also aware there are legal avenues for shareholders to increase his cost way beyond just doing the right thing. I can see either scenario unfold, but am hopeful the Billy I spoke to at the beginning of this is the same guy now, a decent fellow. If not, I will always support efforts here to make things right- a proper legal distribution of the net proceeds of the settlement according to law, not man.
