This was mid-90s and I never gott one steenking Lira back (although I bought my tikkit in DM at the Hauptbahnhof). During the train journey of a day, the Lira prolly depreciated so much against the DM that my refund became negative and turned into a surcharge that the CONductor was too Talyun to bother with axing me for more munny.

I remember arriving Italy at Malpensa airport and seeing the Lira exchange SELL rate to the US Dollar as being 1680 (IIRC), when I departed two weeks later the exchange SELL rate was 1750-somthing per USD - at the exact same airport moneychanger. Both were Lira SELL rates so are exactly comparable, just two weeks apart.

I am shure you lived thru this in your many years in Italia.

Gett used to it again - it is coming to the USA starting last month.

I hope the Talyuns are better with pasta than they are with munny. Gut noos, soon Merrikuns wont be able to afford chickin for their ravioli anymore. You can be happy then, Mother Superior.
