There could be many reasons for this happening. I’m sure Amarin didn’t allow it to happen. This is a common occurrence with UHC. The bottom line? Boils down to how much Amarin would rebate back. I’m sure the margins aren’t huge. So, Amarin doesn’t have much wiggle room.

One factor that hurts Amarin is the fact that they are a one drug company. So, they have no leverage and can’t bundle multiple drugs to create an incentive for the managed care plan to cover.
