Not my area especially, but if amyloid plaques are both an outcome of a dementia root cause and an accelerant, via inflammation, of the resulting dementia, then a mab that effectively addresses plaque could -- as Lilly claims -- slow cognitive decline by removing the inflammatory plaques. However, cognitive decline would always continue because the root cause has not been addressed.

Same analysis would apply to the non-mab sumifalim.
