Xena, I, too, am at risk from the antibiotic use of Cipro. I have a mild case of hereditary spastic paraplegia (HSP), where Cipro can permanently disable full mitochondrial function in nerves, causing permanent paralysis in the affected nerves. My medical records at the hospitals I visit all have my Cipro prohibition.

And, yes, blarcamesine (if it already has not been) should be tested in rats with mitochondrial dysfunctions. I'm betting it would, at least to a degree, restore mitochondrial functions disrupted by Cipro or any of the other fluoroquinalones. I'm certain that at the first opportunity you will approach your physician for an off-label use for your Cipro-induced debility. Very high chance it will work.
