A big part of the problem is that most doctors don't know what Vascepa is and a lot of the rest still think Lovaza and fish oil supplements serve the same purpose. This is partly due to a 40-year drumbeat of advertising heralding fish oil as the greatest cure-all, regardless of what studies show. And 90 percent of the population and a shocking percentage of doctors believe it. Until that changes, Vascepa will have an uphill struggle to get recognized.
