The long tail was not even a thing when a lot of us got invested, much like making a journal article a mandatory step in revealing TLD was not a thing until after September 2020 came and went without TLD.
The original trial was designed to use Progression-Free Survival (PFS) as an endpoint precisely because waiting on the long tail was unnecessarily slow and PFS could act as a surrogate for Overall Survival (OS).
Somewhere along the line, NWBO must have gotten cold feet and decided that their chances of having success with PFS were not good and soon the narrative changed to holding out for OS and the long tail.
As you said "if they are now working... I would not conclude they are dragging their feet" and if is the big word.
Remember when they were working on a big journal article and news was delayed for that and then after a long time the article is in what amounts to a pay to play publication, not the big name journal discussed?
Remember when they were working on EAMS Part Two and Hospital Exemption reimbursement negotiations in Germany?
Remember when partnering on Phase 3 for DCVax Prostate was pending (a much bigger indication than GBM incidentally and with SOC that currently leaves many survivors with poor sexual function)?
Remember when, DCVax Direct was approved for a Phase 2 trial?
So NWBO has a history of starting things and never finishing them.
In fact, they have never finished a Phase 2 trial on anything, except Prostate, even this current trial was a Phase 1/2 that they simply expanded, and correct me if I am wrong.
So maybe like most folks who drag their feet, they have an answer for everything but when you step back and look at the pattern it is clear that every move they make adds time to how long things take and never saves time.
They only go in one direction and maybe they'll be vindicated in a few months, or make that next year, or the year after because they always manage to string things along 3 or 4 months of the time and boil the frog slowly.
