There you have it. Musk states that the Honeycomb sandwich battery structure could make Teslas safer and it just so happens honeycomb sandwich has shown promise in EM absorbtion. That means the honeycomb structure could help prevent thermal runaway & dendrite formation which leads to battery fires and lost capacity.
