The first National Guard to arrive was from Maryland. Two hours before they arrive the House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer called the Rep Gov of Maryland and said the Congress is under siege and he is in a bunker with Nancy and Chuck and could he send the Guard. He said their Guard was ready and just needed the OK and he call the Head of the Guard and they said they DON't have authorization. The said they tried the Sec of Def and he never got back to the Guard. Hour and a half later the Sec of the Army gave them authorization and they were the first Nat Guards to arrive. Pence did nothing about that
