What steve is referencing is that back in the day Larry Dalton screwed the original developers of Lightwaves materials by directing all of the money at the federal level to a company called Lumera which U of W partnered with, they ended up selling ownership and made millions. As info this is were pumpkin came from I don't think he lost all his money but most likely received a return of pennies on the dollar. Pretty ironic that Lightwave ended up buying all of their patents for a couple hundred k bucks. Shame on Dalton, in my opinion he wasn't looking out for the science which was why he sat on that committee but self delt thing.
