It is not that they have enrolled 280 patients. It is meant the institution has met their capacity of enrollees. As far as the trial extension, that doesn't surprise me. They have extended most, if not all, of the vaccine trials. What's frustrating is the lack of communication as to why they are extending the trials. I would assume it is covid related. But it would be nice to get confirmation.
