Lately I have been reading articles about major car makers abandoning internal combustion engines for electric vehicles.
At first I thought that would be a negative for energy companies because gasoline markets will decline. But, another recent article predicts there’s not enough electricity generated to support large volumes of electrical vehicles being charged. So that will require more natural gas for new power plants, Right?
A BIG positive for energy producers.
Wind and Solar don’t contribute much energy in evenings & nights when batteries need to charge. So it will need to be gas & coal to generate electricity?
Supposedly the timeline is about 5 years before enough electric cars are sold to cause significant demand for more electricity.
Any thoughts on this?
