No not important, unless or until some righty tries to construct a conspiracy theory. When the assignments were made I read a post that claimed they were lining up the most conservative judges for the likely swing/voter fraud states.....just as Trump would want.

Turned out to be a 'be careful what you wish for' situation.

In any case, it does appear that assignments usually change only when the makeup of the court changes. Took drilling down to a f'ing pdf to find this:

Q: How is it determined which Justice will handle
an application?

A: The country is divided into 13 federal judicial
circuits and each Supreme Court Justice is assigned
one or more of these circuits. The Justices decide
among themselves who will be responsible for which
circuits, and those assignments are announced in a
written order of the Court. The assignments usually
change only when the Court’s membership changes
(see page 19).
