Vascepa had a very minor smell and no fish taste so I would rate it a 1. To be clear genericV was a very noticeably strong fish smell and very similar to the off the shelf stuff. My scale goes from 1(little to nothing) and 10(makes me want to gag). GenericV could have even been as high as a 7 but hard to quantify. Also it took more than a beer to get the taste out of my mouth.

Generic cost me 10 for a month but I got a 3 month Vascepa for 9 with coupon. The pharmacist when he originally switched me said generic was 20.91 cheaper but not using the coupon.

Sorry for the confusion around the freezer test. I meant frozen or not frozen I would give generic the same smell and taste rating. Therefore it was not affected by the freezer.

Same goes for Vascepa freezer test changed nothing in my rating.

One interesting thing to note is both the generic and Vascepa bottles state "Each capsule contains 1 gram of icosapent ethyl." and the contents of each is 1 gram in weight but the generic has all those fillers.
