Surely the State realizes a decline of Pebble is basically the beginning of denying mineral access to any claim in the area, as they’re all in or near the watershed headwaters.
Since the State attained (swapped) this land specifically for mineral development from the Federal Government, wouldn’t that amount to an unconstitutional “taking”? Alaska and any claim holders would deserve just compensation one would think.
Sure seems like this could be the “yarn starting to come out of the sweater”, and Alaska would want to have a voice in this.
