If there were really a difference in actual price between the two symbols, don't you think arbitrage would bring it in line pretty quickly? The market isn't known for allowing such a serious discrepancy to escape unnoticed and unexploited.
How much extra does it cost to do the exchange rate conversion when you buy or sell Canadian stocks priced in Canadian dollars? And will the same exchange rate hold when it's time to cash in? The Canadian dollar could have fell or risen since then. So basically you're not only buying a stock, but playing the FOREX market at the same time.
